• g)1...d5(giving an escape route for the king to e5) 2 Qxe4#

the answer 1 Rxa8 doesnt work due to 1...Rh5 2 Bg7+ Re5 when mate isnt achieved in 2 moves but 3 moves but is still not the answer. 1 Be2 is also answered effectively by 1...d5. while 1 Kxh2 (threatening Qc3#) is stopped by 1...Rxa3+ when 2 bxa3 (necessary to get out of check) again makes 3 move checkmate not 2
